Series: Anthology for Dreamers
Description:
In the current body of works, each layer of paint presents an opportunity for a gradual transformation of forms like the paradox of our identity – gradually evolving, losing, shedding, absorbing, and incorporating new sensorial information in the process of constant becoming.
These artworks explore the subject matter of the painting through a pictorial investigation of the phenomenon of pareidolia.
Throughout history, the use of pareidolia has been linked to religious, political, and creative practices. Painters of the Renaissance, Symbolist, and Surrealist periods used pareidolia to heighten their creative practices, intentionally hiding images within images or imitating the pareidolia experience to imbue spiritual meanings into the narrative of their paintings.
