"Nostalgia for a childhood filled with magic accompanied by a present feeling of restlessness and an unfilled stillness, a complex feeling to describe. The canvas holds this attempt to understand literally and metaphorical the distinction from space to place. The feeling of always being looking for my old self, for old places and identify with those from a very old past. This process of painting as if I am still leaving and yet (endlessly) arriving also brings the possibility to rethink identity, to become more immerse in the moment, and find new ways to thrive and even blossom." - Ileana Tolibia
